This makes it the perfect layover stop for boats headed to/from the Nowitna, Koyukuk, Yuki, Innoko or other river systems further down the Yukon. Two separate remote wilderness hot springs are located nearby and accessible via boat/hike or helicopter. During years when the Iron Dog and Iditarod trails run from Fairbanks down the Yukon River, they pass right by the lodge. The lodge sells unleaded fuel at the river for boats from the end of Break up until Freeze up starts and during the winter months for snow machines.
